This story might have a strong (or possible) link to Putin’s anti-gay legislation. Perhaps he is making a feeble attempt to promote procreation, even though the obvious problem is staring him in the face. Alcoholism seems to be a problem that can affect the youth, families, and the general population much more than the “threat” of homosexuality. Russia needs to rethink its political strategy if it wants to keep up a neutral and attractive international image.
